The Junior League of Columbus: Advancing Women and Our Community for over 100 years

Join us as we Celebrate Women’s History Month at the Kelton House and Garden with a presentation celebrating the amazing work of our very own Junior League of Columbus, Ohio.

Founded in 1923, the Junior League of Columbus is part of a network of over 295 Junior Leagues across the world. The Junior League is a learning organization dedicated to; promoting voluntarism through “Quick Impact” opportunities, developing the potential of women through our hands-on training through placements, and improving communities through projects and programs developed by our organization.

Over the years the Junior League of Columbus has assisted with, raised funds for, and founded many programs around Columbus and Central Ohio that still have impact today. Currently the JLC impacts our community through projects including Bridging the G.A.P. (Guide, Advocate, Provide) which supports youth aging out of the foster care system. The JLC also manages the Kelton House Museum & Garden, which once served as a stop on the Underground Railroad, providing award-winning programs and tours educating the public on life in the second half of the 19th century with a unique view of urban life and decorative arts.

By Re-defining the role of women (over the past 100 years) as activists, leaders, innovators in our community, their Leadership and Training Development,  Grantsmanship; SPAC; Strategic Planning; Board development; financial and programmatic networking  has trained and educated women to further themselves, their careers, and contributions to Central Ohio and our society.
